The Christopher Hotel has an interesting history, once being located on the site of Eton College. Previously a Coaching Inn, this historic property is located just a short walk from the oldest inhabited castle in the world; Windsor Castle, which is just beyond the pedestrian bridge that crosses the ever interesting River Thames and connects Eton to its neighbour, Windsor.

The impressive buildings of Eton college are also a short stroll from the hotel along with a myriad of independent shops and restaurants.

Dining in Eton and Windsor

We serve all our guests an excellent full English breakfast to start your day. Choose from dishes such as avocado and poached eggs or freshly cooked omelettes. The traditional full English is a firm favourite with a veggie option available too.

In the evening you can have a quick tipple in our cosy bar before heading out to one of the many pubs and restaurants that are close by (The Christopher Hotel does not serve evening meals).

Within Eton itself there is plenty to choose from. Fine dining and wonderful service at Gilbey's, delicious French brasserie style food at Cote overlooking the River Thames or Italian over the road at Don Beni. There are a couple of options for an Indian at either the Golden Curry, again virtually over the road or Mango Lounge just across the river.

Eton also has a wealth of independent cafes serving food during the day.

Just a short walk over the pedestrian bridge into Windsor and there are many more options including Browns overlooking the river, Giggling Squid, The Ivy opposite Windsor Castle and Sebastian’s – a much-loved local Italian restaurant.
